Minecraft Birthday Party Ideas - The mega resource page!

Where to start?

There are a tonne of ideas on the internet, it's a little overwhelming. Whether you want to craft things from scratch or buy something ready-made, there's something for everyone's time/effort level. We have done a fair bit of research already, so this post will become our go-to page to keep us on track.

Have you heard of the Blockpediabook? I bought this for our son as I thought the book itself was a very nice looking book (it's shaped like a block). Inside, it has references to nearly everything in Minecraft. We refer to this all the time (and read a few random pages at night before bedtime). This is not only a handy book to use for inspiration, but if you plan on making anything, you can refer to the images to get it right (ie: not making a stone block look like cobble stone, OK mum!!)

Minecraft Tableware.

Here's a selection of table cloths, table runners, placemats (laminated and fabric), paper plates, melamine plates, napkins and mugs (all customizable if you wish). I love the Minecraft pig napkins!

Minecraft Sweet Treats.

There are WAY too many great ideas for food and sweet treats. If you're willing to make your own, I have listed a handful of great links below. Otherwise, read on and you'll find a selection of ready-made treats.

Really Easy Treats.

Take your child to the lolly section of your local supermarket, or a specialty lolly shop, and see what sweets look like items from the game. Mix it up with healthy snacks as well. Here are some ideas:

1. Cookies = Mini bite-sized cookies
2. Gold, Silver or Iron = Hershey's Nuggets
3. Redstone = Upside down strawberries
4. Melon = Small watermelon wedges
5. Carrot = Baby carrots
6. Sticks = Pretzel sticks
7. Diamond = Blue rock candy crystals
8. Emerald = Green chocolate rock candy
9. Coal = Black chocolate rock candy
10. Obsidian = Black M&M's
11. TNT = Red licorice
12. Snow = White marshmallows
13. Trapdoor = Pretzel snaps
14. Sandstone = Caramel squares
15. Slimeballs = Apple fruit sours
16. Water = Blue jelly blocks

Label the food like Minecraft inventory...

If you need more food ideas, you can get more inspiration from the food page on Pixel Papercraft. Here, you could also download images and make your own food label tent cards (as above) to place in front of each bowl or plate of food.

If you want to save time and spend money, there are many pre-made tent cards online (try ETSY) that you can purchase as well.

Minecraft decorations.

Create your own Creeper balloons easily! Decorate plain green balloons with black Creeper eye and mouth shapes cut out, and use double sided tape to stick to the balloons. Or, buy ready-made Creeper balloons.

While your Creeper balloons are hanging from the ceiling, you could cover the floor with green and brown Dirt Block colored balloons.
